Meet Bart and Frank

They are commuters and they don't own cars. They use public transit to get around DC, and they love it. Almost. They don't like to wait around for trains. Then again, who does?

One day, Frank had an idea to check trains using only a cell phone. Bart loved it, so they set off to work on TrainCheck. TrainCheck was revealed on February 20th, 2006 in Mountain View, California at a "first-of-its-kind" event titled MashupCamp. There, it was awarded 3rd place in the event's software competition. Today, Bart and Frank are improving TrainCheck using their minds, shear will, and suggestions from people like you.

Their goal is to help people discover the value of public transit and ubiquitous information access.

What's Next for TrainCheck? Utility, Usability, and You

We are always thinking about the next step toward an information utopia. Currently, TrainCheck is drawing from exact replicas of the timetables in use by the Metros in the TrainCheck system. That's great! but not great enough for us. We are seeking the interest of any domestic Metropolitan Public Transit Authority who is open to the idea of developing an API to deliver LIVE train AND BUS times to TrainCheck. Serving commuters and travelers using public transit is our pleasure.

Yours in transit,

Bart and Frank
